The lettering should belong to the rest of the design. Bold block capitals sit naturally on traditional banners and read from across a room. Flowing script suits quotes and single words, and pairs well with fine line work. Serif lettering has a quieter, engraved feel that fits memorial pieces, especially with dates underneath.

Size, placement and how lettering ages
